About Everett Author and Illustrator John Skewes: After studying art, Skewes began his career in Seattle’s apparel industry before joining Disney Consumer Products in Los Angeles as a character artist. He later launched his independent illustration career and created the first book in the series, Larry Gets Lost in Seattle. This award-winning book series introduces young readers to geography, history, and local landmarks through fun adventures. The series has sold more than 500,000 copies, received educational grants, and been incorporated into classroom lesson plans and field trips. Beyond publishing, his work includes large-scale murals for Funko and New York’s Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital. Known for his engaging storytelling and playful illustrations, Skewes has inspired generations of young readers to explore the world around them—one city at a time.
