Christy Clement started Vashon Island Coffee Dust in May of 2021. She wasn’t a daily coffee drinker before the pandemic, but with extra time, Christy found herself with new traditions, one of which was a morning hot tub soak while drinking coffee with her husband. As is true for many new coffee drinkers, Christy preferred her coffee filled with cream and sugar, but wasn’t a fan of the calories and blood sugar spikes that accompanied that routine. When her friend Kim served her coffee with a delicious blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, turmeric and cardamom, she was not only hooked, but began experimenting with lots of other spices in her coffee. When she realized no one made spice blends for coffee, she decided to start a company and Vashon Island Coffee Dust was born! She now has a fabulous team of 4 part-time people on Vashon Island who help manufacture, package and ship Coffee Dust. Coffee Dust is filled with the laughter and love of that team!
