LULUMIÈRE started on a kitchen counter in 2013. What began as a very messy experiment led to candle pouring as one of the ways founder Linda Takano processed deep personal loss. It is one of the reasons she still enjoys the practice of slow pouring more than 10 years later. She believes that scent can soothe, refresh, awaken, cleanse & sometimes even heal. By including natural essential oils in every candle, she hopes to encourage calmness & deep breaths.

A few years later, when self-care at home became a necessity during the pandemic, Linda looked at her stockpile of colorful bath bombs and then over to the bathtub that she didn’t use much. Thinking that there ought to be bath bombs for shower people, she set out to make her own, LULUMIÈRE style. These would be made with 100% essential oils, free of dyes, without clays & cube shaped to last. We love being known for our Shower Steamers.

In 2021, Linda opened a LULUMIÈRE storefront in Seattle's college town, affectionately known as the U-District. Here, you can see us pouring candles every single day. We are a small but mighty team of 5, each with unique specialties. We enjoy meeting & serving our local community through gifting, events & presence as a small, handmade business.
