America’s 63 beloved National Parks are treasures beyond measure. Snoqualmie Valley Candle Co.'s National Parks candle line captures a bit of the magic of these wild and wonderful places.
Olympic Coastal Rainforest: This scent captures elements of the forest and ferns with mist rolling in off the Pacific Ocean.
Olympic National Park was established in 1938 and is located in the upper left corner of Washington State's Olympic Peninsula. It boasts nearly a million acres with 73 miles of rugged wilderness coastline along the mighty Pacific Ocean. There are over 3000 miles of rivers and streams, 32 named glaciers, and the Hoh and Quinault’s temperate rainforest, which receives over 12 feet of rain annually. Did someone say moss? Lots of moss and fern varieties share this land with giant western hemlocks, Douglas firs, and Sitka spruce trees. There are three distinct ecosystems, including the glaciated peak of Mount Olympus (7,980’/2,432m). Many animals are endemic to the park, including the Olympic marmot, Olympic torrent salamander, and the snow mole, while the most iconic animal in the park is the Roosevelt elk.
Candle Care: Your first time lighting the candle, please burn the candle until you have a melt pool that goes edge to edge. This process usually takes 2-3 hours and will prevent “tunneling” so your candle will last longer. Trim wick to ¼” before each use to reduce unnecessary smoke. Keep away from drafts and vents. Follow all safety instructions on the candle warning label.
