Mariusz Rynkiewicz crafts hand-blown glass sculptures using traditional Venetian techniques and vibrant color dynamics. Combining expert technical skill with innovative forms, his masterfully blown glass artworks capture light, dimension, and timeless artistic beauty.

Mariusz Rynkiewicz’s lifelong calling as a glass sculptor began in 1977 upon viewing the czarist glass collection of Venetian Masters in St. Petersburg. Inspired by the breathtaking craftsmanship, he immediately began studying and working at the Bialystok Glass Works and later the Krosno Glass Works in Poland, gaining rigorous factory training and mastering traditional European glassblowing techniques.

In 1988, Rynkiewicz settled in Seattle and quickly immersed himself in the region’s world-renowned studio glass movement. He honed his craft under legendary master Lino Tagliapietra at the Pratt Fine Art Center, where he later passed on his knowledge as an instructor. In 1995, he opened his own independent studio in Everett, Washington, dedicated to pushing the boundaries of sculptural blown glass.

Driven by an intense focus on color, Rynkiewicz designs each sculpture around the interplay of light and shade. Holding objects to the light as he works, he imagines new shapes and dimensions that best express the soul of a color. By combining traditional glassblowing roots with original, modern forms, his handcrafted glass sculptures bring radiant color, depth, and beauty into any setting.
