Good Smells Done Well

A Candle Is A Hike

Seattle, Washington

For Megan McLaughlin, it started in 2001 as a journey to rediscover the beauty and majesty of the American landscape. Living from her tent in national parks and public lands around the country, she inhaled the scents and sights experienced by the people of this continent for hundreds and thousands of years. Wanting to pass on her love of this natural world to you and bring the best of nature to your home (wherever you may be), the Good & Well Supply Co. was born in 2016.

They are committed to using ethically sourced materials as much as possible. They believe that the best way to do this is to source our materials from the USA: it gives us the ability to ensure good labor practices and to support our local farmers, craftsmen, and manufacturers. All of our candle materials come from the USA, including wax made from soy grown in America, balsa wicks made from balsa trees grown in America, and oils made in America. Most of their packaging is made here too, and they’re continuously looking to increase that percentage. They’re also committed to the environment: nature is the inspiration for their products and they want to keep it around to inspire future generations too. Buying American-made products lets them  reduce carbon emissions by reducing shipping distances and making materials with stricter environmental controls.

They craft products that celebrate nature and they advocate for and support public lands through annual donations to the National Park Foundation and Washington National Park fund as well as advocating for diversity and inclusion in the outdoors through annual donations to Black Outside, Inc., and Earthjustice. In 2022, they are partnering with One Tree Planted to plant a tree for every product sold. They want to support these beautiful places and organizations for generations to come, and they hope that you will too.
