The story of Billie at Pike Place Market
Billie the Piggy Bank is the cousin of Rachel the Piggy Bank and was created by Whidbey Island sculptor Georgia Gerber. Billie joined her cousin in 2011 for the PikeUp! campaign in which thousands of Seattleites came together to help fund the new MarketFront expansion. Through Billie’s undeniable charm, she and her team at the Market Foundation raised more than $9 million to expand Pike Place Market for the first time in 40 years. Billie can be found greeting new and old friends at the Market entrance on Western Avenue at the bottom of the Pike Place Hillclimb Walk.

Note: The name mercury glass is the name given to glass items that are typically made to look like silver with the use of a silvering agent on the inside. Does not contain any actual mercury or silver in the product.
