In 2009, Robyn Bradley worked at a tile store that wasn’t particularly busy, especially during the recession. When she was laid off, she wondered aloud to her roommate about what to do next.
“Why don’t you sell the little things you make?” her roommate suggested.
So, that’s what Robyn did. She started selling her “little things,” also known as the small-batch lifestyle goods she made by hand, at local markets and craft shows. Like many of our makers, Robyn started her business in her home. She originally created her bath, home, and skin care products because she couldn’t find what she needed for her skin sensory issues and care for quality, plant-based ingredients. It quickly became clear others needed Robyn’s products, too.
And why wouldn’t they? With entire product lines named after popular cocktails or devoted to one of her dogs, it’s been apparent from the beginning that Robyn is one of us. That—matched with her limitless talent in so many directions—is a considerable part of handmade.’s appeal.
Handmade Skincare and Bath Products in Washington
Robyn went through a few names and several logos before landing on what became handmade. la conner and, unsurprisingly, she designed her simple and elevated logo herself. The brand is highly-recognizable on the shelves of not only Robyn’s store but also in the shops and websites of her 400+ wholesale partners, including Made In Washington.
The handmade. la conner brand is expansive, covering everything from beard oil for men to diaper cream for babies. At Made In Washington, we carry a rotating collection of Robyn’s best-sellers, including her Restoring Face Wash and Bow Hill Blueberry Scrub, along with some of her more niche products, like Henrietta's Dog Calming Spray. The ingredients in each product are clean and natural, and the scents (if the product is scented—many are available unscented) come from pure essential oils.
Shop Handmade Home
If a shop and production facility in the heart of La Conner weren’t enough, Robyn lives in an apartment upstairs. Her products are beautifully branded, designed intentionally, made ethically by hand in small batches, and packaged sustainably—all onsite. If you’ve ever experienced one of the glass bottles that houses her hand soaps and lotions, you know the empty receptacle often becomes a treasure, enjoying more lifetimes as a bud vase, craft container, or refilled vessel.
Once a one-woman show, the handmade. la conner team has grown to approximately twenty makers and producers. The quality and attention to detail remain the absolute highest because everything is done in-house—Robyn’s production kitchen sources sustainable and organic ingredients when available, never tests on animals, and is Leaping Bunny certified. Given the wide—and exciting—array of products, there truly is something for everyone to love in a handmade. la conner product, including for your pets!

Handmade La Conner and Made In Washington
We have been working with Robyn and her team since 2014, and our partnership continues to become richer. Robyn appreciates the data we’re able to share about our customer purchases, as well as our Washington-centric approach to product assortment. “I’m a part of many shops that focus on women-owned businesses, for example, but there’s just something a little extra special about working with other Washington makers,” she told us. “It’s great to feel so supported as a Washington-based business.”
It’s a true honor to be on the front lines of watching handmade. la conner evolve and touch so many lives. We consider ourselves stewards of Robyn’s work and are always anticipating what she’s dreaming up next. To connect our customers with her small-batch, intentional products is an honor we don’t take lightly.
Robyn’s Favorite Thing About Washington
When you make your home in a place that purports to be a “Tiny Town with Big Charm,” there’s already a lot to love about your little and specific slice of Washington. When we asked Robyn what she loves most about Washington, she said this: “My favorite thing about Washington is how beautiful it is! The mountains, the water, the trees—I love all of it. Even the rain and cloudy days don’t bother me too much. I am so lucky to have grown up here, and don’t think I could ever call another place home.”
We’re with you, Robyn—for all of it.
