Northwest Makes is the creative effort of Tiffany Smith-Fleischman, a textiles artist in Issaquah, Washington. She screenprints, cuts and sews everything in her Issaquah studio, located in the Downtown Creative District, drawing inspiration from her natural surroundings. All designs are original and created by Tiffany.
Her fabric is Oeko-Tex certified organic linen sourced from European mills that maintain a strong commitment to sustainable practices. Sewing has been a passion of Tiffany’s from the time she was old enough to use her mom’s machine. Printing her own designs on luscious linen is her dream job.
Tiffany has lived in Issaquah for more than 20 years with her husband, three kids and two dogs. She mentors two interns from Gibson Ek High School, Issaquah School District’s Big Idea school. They work in her studio where they are learning to sew, help package goods, prep fabric and learning what it takes to run a small, creative business. Tiffany is also a proud Girl Scout leader.
