The starry night sky is filled by a mesmerizing dance of lights, a meeting of the Sun's solar winds and the Earth's magnetosphere. In the Northern Hemisphere this spectacular phenomenon is known as the northern lights, or aurora borealis (Latin for dawn of the North).
