Willapa Valley Lavender Farm
In 2016 Jeff Karnatz, with his sister Kim and brother-in-law Luke Avery, transplants from Arizona, had a dream of owning a family-run business. What they cultivated was an organic lavender farm with all the distinct products that lavender is suited to, including receptions and tours. Willapa Valley Lavender Farm is located in Raymond, Washington. They grow, harvest, and sell a variety of lavender products including but not limited to fresh and dried bundles, cooking products, and body products. Their farm started in 2016 when they were given the opportunity to own and operate a family farm. In the Summer of 2017, they started with 4500 tiny lavender plants they purchased from a mother plant grown in Quincy, WA. Once those were established, they propagated and planted an additional 2800 plants in the Spring of 2018. Currently they have three high-producing acres of lavender and plan to expand this to six acres by 2022. To that end, grower and farmer Paul Stazel, from Seattle, joined the team bringing an extensive background in plants and education to help partner Jeff with the daily operation of the farm.
All their products are made on the farm with natural ingredients. Dried lavender, oils, beauty products, it's a one stop for everything lavender! Another focus of the Willapa Valley Lavender Farm is that they knew from the beginning that they wanted their farm to be a place where people could come together and make beautiful memories. With that in mind, they designed their lavender fields in a way that left a perfect circle right in the center of their four original lavender fields, making a perfect spot for ceremonies and celebrations. Behind the purple fields are the evergreen Willapa hills, giving the farm a truly Pacific Northwest backdrop. A near by grassy field is a roomy space for receptions, and their greenhouse patio is also a welcoming setting.
